This is one of my first digital pieces, and one that I frankly had forgotten about. I stumbled across it while searching for other art files, and thought I would post it. Sorry for the small image, but this is the only version of the painting that I can find. Unfortunately, I may not have painted it in high rez.
This was a concept sketch for a painting that I did in 2006. The sketch was painted in photoshop, the final painting in oils. The painting varied somewhat from this, but the general idea is here.
This is a character concept I worked up a while back- possibly from 2005- but I never finished it. So today I thought I would finish it for the blog. Enjoy!
Here is the finished illustration from last post's drawing. I drew the background seperately from the characters, then scanned and pasted both drawings together in Photoshop and started in with the painting. The element in the sky is a runic skychart of zodiac symbols.
This is a drawing I did for a roleplaying game interior illustration. I'll post the finished illustration next time so you can compare the two. I always get a kick out of looking at artists' sketches and drawings, and so hope you enjoy this bit of behind the scenes as well. I'll have to paint more orcs-- they're fun to do.
This a cover I did for Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine early in the year. Another good print job, with the colors and values of the actual illustration printing fairly accurately.
Here is an illustration project I worked on earlier this year. It's a set of tarot cards based on the constellations and related mythology, and published by Dogtown Games. I just got my deck in the other day and I have to say, they look great! I think they did a fantastic job with them. The cards just look good-- very nice design and color, plus the illustrations printed well.
